“A beautiful face will age and a perfect body will change, but a beautiful soul will always be a beautiful soul.”

A combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight:  that’s the definition of beauty according to the dictionary, and that’s how most people see it.  But true beauty runs much deeper than that.  You don’t need the prettiest face or the best figure.  What you need is a beautiful soul.

There’s so many things that will change or disappear with time, like that flawless complexion or wrinkle free smile.  But a good heart is there to stay.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to work on your mind rather than on your body to become truly beautiful.  How many people are you actually going to help by losing a couple pounds?  None compared to how many you could help by learning to become a better human being.

How do you make others feel about themselves?

Do you come across as a gentle person who always considers others’ feelings or are you more aggressive and don’t mind scratching the chalkboard?  Either way, you can and you should use whatever personality you have for the better.  Think before you speak.  Words hurt, no matter what some might say!  How do you feel when someone belittles the things you’re passionate about?  Not good I’m guessing.  So, the next time you’re on the verge of telling someone how insane their plan is, whatever it may be, try to be supportive instead.  Just knowing that someone believes in them can go a long way.

Do you see beauty in others?

When you see someone walking down the street, do you notice their dirty shoes, or do you notice their bright smile?  Do you notice when someone is being kind and gracious, or do you only notice when the cashier is being rude to you?

Seeing the inner beauty in others helps us find our inner beauty.  Try to see the good in people!

Is there confidence there?

Are you okay with knowing that there will always be someone out there that won’t like you?  Are you okay with knowing that some people’s definition of beauty won’t be of you?  How about this?  Can you look at someone else’s outer beauty and not question your own?

If your answer to these questions was no, remember this.

  • It’s okay to be who you should be, instead of being someone who’s there to please everyone, everywhere, all the time.
  • Realize that you are unique, and that is what makes you awesome.
  • Know that you can look different than everyone else and still be beautiful.

True beauty comes from within.  Its about how you love, how you care, how you communicate with others’ feelings, how you love the way you look even if it’s not someone else’s definition of beauty but because it’s yours and it’s what makes you, you!

“She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines.  She was beautiful, for the way she thought.  She was beautiful, for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved.  She was beautiful, for her ability to make other people smile, even if she was sad.  No, she wasn’t beautiful for something as temporary as her looks.  She was beautiful, deep down to her soul.” -F. Scott Fitzgerald
